Are you an adult with a BMI between 30 and 45? If so, you may qualify for a paid research study focused on understanding how hormones and metabolism work in people with obesity.

This is a simple, one-time visit that helps advance important medical research, and you’ll receive $50 plus transportation reimbursement for your time.

Why This Overweight Study Matters

Obesity affects millions of people and increases the risk of diabetes, heart disease, and liver conditions. This overweight research study is looking into how the body processes insulin, sugar, and fats to better understand how metabolism works in individuals with a higher body mass index.

Your participation could help scientists develop better treatments and prevention strategies in the future, and all it takes is a single visit.

What You’ll Do

If you qualify and choose to participate, here’s what your visit will include:

  • Answer a few simple health and lifestyle questions

  • Have a small blood sample drawn (about 1.7 tablespoons or 25 cc)

  • No medications, fasting, or physical tests required

  • That’s it — you’re done!

What Researchers Are Studying

From your blood sample, researchers will measure:

  • Insulin – a hormone that helps control blood sugar

  • Glucose (sugar) levels

  • Certain fats and other molecules related to metabolism

This helps researchers understand how the body stores and uses energy, especially in people with a higher BMI.

Who Can Join?

You may qualify if you:

  • Are 18 years or older

  • Have a BMI between 30 and 45 (this falls within the obesity range)

  • Can attend one in-person visit

What You Get

  • $50 compensation for your time

  • Reimbursement for round-trip bus or subway fare (if applicable)

  • The opportunity to support cutting-edge health research

You may be invited to participate in future studies on how insulin affects liver fat, but there’s absolutely no obligation to join any other research.

Why Your Participation Matters

By joining this study, you help researchers better understand how hormones and metabolism work in people with obesity. This knowledge could lead to better ways to manage conditions like:

  • Type 2 Diabetes

  • Fatty Liver Disease

  • Heart Disease

  • Obesity-related complications

Ready to Make a Difference?

If you meet the criteria and want to earn $50 while contributing to meaningful health research, this study is a great opportunity.
